Jalaun to redraw 108 and 102 ambulance parking spots after complaints of no-shows

Jalaun health officials will review where 23 108 and 21 102 ambulances are stationed after complaints that vehicles are missing from their assigned spots.

Health officials in Jalaun district, Uttar Pradesh, are preparing to change the locations where ambulances are stationed, according to an Amar Ujala report published on 29 October 2026 from Orai.

The report says the move follows complaints that ambulances are often not present at their designated spots when people need them. It adds that the step came after the newspaper published a report on the issue in its 25 October edition.

According to the report, 23 ambulances run under the 108 service for emergency patients, while 21 run under the 102 service, which carries pregnant women to hospital.

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. H.N. Prasad, has asked for a list of the current ambulance parking spots. Shabab Ahmad, the district in-charge of the ambulance service, met officials to discuss possible changes, and Dr. A.P. Verma, the ACMO and nodal officer, was also named in the report. Officials want to identify places where ambulances can serve people best, and will consult the Public Works Department and the traffic police before fixing new locations.

Why it matters for ambulance owners and drivers

  • Drivers and crews on the 108 and 102 services in the district may be asked to shift to new standby points.
  • Standby locations are being linked to complaints about availability, so presence at the assigned spot is likely to be watched.
